AKAL is a dark electronic industrial indigenous folk group, surprisingly based out of Texas. Their first album, "Camera Obscura" was written and recorded 17 years ago, then was lost to the technical ethers. Now, recently found and reincarnated in a new form, "Camera Obscura" is a powerful movement of world instrumentation, tribal electronic beats, psychedelic guitars, and transcendent vocals. Lyrically themed around transformation and transmutation, AKAL's first and long lost album, is a deeply engaging labyrinth of ancient and modern sounds. Brothers and Sisters of AKAL would be the sounds of Dead Can Dance, Heilung, NIN, Chemical Brothers, Pink Floyd and Depeche Mode. Born of the dust, always been here, died multiple times, and now dancing on our graves again. Album available on rivers and streaming ways September 3, 2025.
